Wouldn’t it be nice to hear your door chime in the basement, back bedroom, or out on your back deck?  The RC3250 by Carlon is simple to use and easy to install wherever you need to hear it most.

  • The set features the RC3301 wireless door chime button and the RC3253 plug-in receiver.
  • The range from the doorbell button to the plug-in receiver is up to 150 feet.
  • The receiver will play one of 13 melodies.  These melodies are easily selected by pushing a small button on the outdoor pushbutton.

The RC3253 is the workhorse of the Carlon and Dimango product line.  Using the patented SAW technology, this system has a range from receiver to button of up to 150 ft.

The RC3253 wireless receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet. The two included pushbuttons should be mounted outside, on the door frame or wall of the doors you want a doorbell chime to originate from.

When someone pushes the button, a musical chime is played on the wireless plug-in receiver.  These systems are fully expandable meaning you can add more wireless push buttons (RC3301) and wireless plug-in receivers (RC3253.)

Set up takes a matter of minutes.  The wireless transmitters (push buttons) may be mounted with double-sided tape or screws, both of which are included.  The receiver plugs into a wall outlet.  All you would need to do is push the small button that protrudes on the surface of the push button to choose the sound option that you want to hear. You would then do the same on the other button so they are both playing a different sound.  This allows you to determine which door is ringing when a guest arrives.

If you need additional range, up to 1000 feet from transmitter to receiver, or if there will be metal or brick interference, we recommend you purchase the LRA-D1000S, a long-range wireless door chime button to the kit.  This product will give you a range of up to 1000 ft. versus the 150 ft. that the RC3250 offers.

    The Good: – The wireless range is very good.rnThe Bad: – On the loudest setting, the volume is low. To change codes, you have to cut wires instead of flipping switches like most wireless doorbells.

    I never write reviews on products but after reading the first review of this product, I though I would offer one since I am reordering.rnrnObviously i like the product since I am reordering 🙂 the chime part is the RC3253 (I use them to in our office) but this one has a flashing light. I prefer the privacy codes where they are on the Carlon products because if you accidentally change it, it then become incompatible with your other products. Anyway, how hard is it to unplug the door chime, flip it over and change the code? It is loud and has the flashing light.

    No brainer to install, but I expected the volume to be more than it is (even when switched to loud). One weird thing that I found was that when the door bell is pressed, the original bell sounds first then about 2 or 3 seconds latter the new one goes off. I expected everything to go off at once, not a big deal though.

    Needed to extend the wireless bell for back door to lower basement level. Although advertised to extend 150ft, this is obviouslly only in a open straight line.rnFound I had to place the unit almost directly below the door in order to receive signal. Product works, but only within its less than advertised limits.

    Our house is big enough that the one doorbell in the home could not be heard except close to the front door. The Extend-a-chime was the perfect answer. We needed the battery powered unit (easy to install) and five of the electric – plug in – powered models to cover the needed areas. We purchased another battery powered model to have a “traveler” to take onto the patio and porch. They work great!!

    The service over the phone was wonderful, since it seems that other seller’s just let you figure it out for yourself. I would have provided 5 stars, but then the system didn’t quite have the range I was expecting. Very possibly not an issue with the system as much as it could be an issue with interference within my house, but frustrating none the less.

    It is a little early to place the review. We received the door chime with 2 doorbells. One did not work. Customer Service was very nice and is suppose to be mailing me out another doorbell. So that was all excellent. There just has not been enough time to have received it yet. So for now everything is good!

    My first buttons were faulty and the company immediately shipped me two more which work perfectly. It’s easy to install and the chime loudness is adequate though it could be louder. I would love an ornate button, but I was told that wireless buttons can not send a signal if they are made of metals. So the button does the job and is attractively plain.     Yes it is. Each RC3250 contains one push button and one receiver. You can additional receivers by purchasing the RC3253 https://secure.1800doorbell.com/rc3253-wireless-plugin-add-on-door-chime.htm, which is the same plugin receiver that is featured in the kit. You can add as many receivers as you want, just make sure they are within operating range of the push button.

    I called the company to inquire if the new models would be compatible with my old transmitter. I was told all the new models were compatible for the last 13 or so years. (I have forgotten the the year)The year my old one could be found on a small round sticker. Mine was per chased after that year so I was good to go. I did not even have to program it to any new code. The ringers could be a little louder even when on high.

    I purchased this kit to replace my old doorbell because I had phantom ringing. This doorbell was as easy to install as advertised and works beautifully. The doorbell button is a solid thick plastic construction. Much more durable than the one I replaced which was from a big box store. I no longer have phantom ringing problem but if it happens again, I can resolve by changing the operating frequency on this doorbell.
