Description
You would be hard-pressed to find a more elegant, decorative, better-sounding door chime than this one by Craftmade. Set in a real rosewood cabinet, the hammered traditional pewter medallion inset adds elegance and sophistication that only a chime-like this can boast. As if that weren’t enough, the long hanging brass tubes are over 5 feet long.
This doorbell plays either the four-note or 8-note Westminster chime for the front door and a single note for a second or third door.
Please note: We recommend a 16V, 30VA doorbell transformer for this product. The T1630 is the transformer that should be used with this product. ** The user manual states the chime has volume control — it does not.
- 8 or 4-note Westminster chime for front door
- One note tone for the second and third door
- 16V transformer required
- Requires 18-gauge doorbell wire for all wiring connections (chime to a transformer, transformer to push button)
- Finish – pewter
- Cabinet – Rosewood
- Dimensions:
- 10.75” Width
- 56.75” Length

Cory Freake –
Does the sound actually transfer though the brass tubes? or are they only decorative? Thanks
1800Doorbell –
Yes, the sound transfers through the tubes.
Elizabeth Winston –
I have the doorbell installed but the cover for the mechanics is missing can I get a replacement cover from you?
Guest Shopper –
Does the sound come from the tubes or are the tubes simply decorative?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. The chime sound resonates from the brass tubes.
Leona –
Will this work with a video doorbell like a Ring doorbell?
Tim Mack –
Does the top of the doorbell light up?

Is the sound generated electronically?
Or are there actual mechanical strikers that make contact with the tubes to make them resonate.
We have a 1980s Nutone in our current house with actual strikers but are building a new home in another state.
Suzanne Plourde –
Are the pipes actually used to make the sound
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. Yes, there is a mechanism that hits the tubes once the chime is activated. Thank you,

Hi – I just installed a Maxdot Doorbell Transformer Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell Pro <>
Is the C4-PW Decorative 4 Long Tubes Wired Door Chime in Pewter finish by Craftmade compatible with Ring Video Doorbell Pro using this type of upgraded transformer? It looks like a great Door Chime to have but it is not yet on their list of compatibility?
Are there any other options you have in a tube chime that work with a upgraded transformer mentioned above and a Ring Video Doorbell Pro?
THANKS!
David Myers –
Will this, in conjunction with the T1630 transformer, work with the nest doorbell which requires: “16V ACâ24V AC; requires a 10VA transformer “?
Scott Meyers –
I’m looking to replace my old style Rittenhouse 4 note Westminster DB, similar to this one. Mine has the short tubes. Do you have an option for this unit of switching long for short tubes?
Thanks!

My wife and I purchased a house in Michigan last summer and it has a similar door chime. Previous owners used a video doorbell, so the chime was disconnected. Is it possible for you to send the wiring diagram for this chime? If I can figure out the wiring in the house I will need your transformer. Thanks

Is the C4-PW doorbell compatible with lighted pushbuttons?

Any compatibility problems with Blink door button?

Can you get the product with brass tubes?
1800Doorbell –
Good afternoon. The C4-PW and CA4-RC come with brass tubes in a pewter and renaissance crackle finish, these are the only two finishes available. We also no longer stock these two chimes. Thank you,
