The SS140 by Safeguard Supply is an Economy Motion Door Chime Alarm Kit. The kit features a battery-powered PIR motion sensor and one plug-in receiver. Simply mount the motion sensor using the supplied mounting screws and pivot bracket, pair the sensor to the receiver, and you’re up and running. When motion is detected in the monitored area, the plugin receiver will instantly play the selected melody.
The small, plugin receiver plugs into a standard 120V electrical outlet. The front of the receiver features a stylish horizontal LED light that flashes blue to indicate a melody is playing (when triggered). A volume controls knob enables you to toggle the volume from low volume to 90dB. What’s also great about this product is you can add as many plugin receivers throughout your home or office as needed.
Where to Use the SS140 Economy Motion Sensor Doorbell Alarm Chime Kit
Because of the outdoor weather rating of the SS142 Motion Based Sensor, the kit may be used in a variety of locations. For home security, place the motion sensor in a hallway, or even on the front porch. When a visitor arrives and motion is detected, a signal will immediately be sent to your plug-in receiver. Use it above the entrance to your store to alert you when a customer arrives, or even use it as a driveway alarm.
The Kit includes:
- 1 x SS135 plugin wireless chime receiver
- 1 x SS141 wireless PIR sensor / transmitter
- Mounting screws and a mounting pivot bracket for the sensor
SS140 Economy Motion Alarm Chime Kit Features:
- Sensor is IP44 rated which means the product is protected against solid objects that are over 1mm (e.g. tools and small wires). It is also protected against water splashing from any angle.
- Range from the sensor to the receiver is up to 600 ft., line of sight. Obstacles such as wall material, door material, and other environmental factors may reduce the total wireless distance.

Good morning. Yes, all of the products in the SS series are compatible and you can have up to 50 transmitters and/or receivers. The door sensor kit would be the SS130.

Is this similar to the Carlon RC4600? It worked great for about 13 years then it seems the sensor was as sensitive. It rang once on motion and any substantial subsequent motion, but not non stop, super great.
I tried another type and it just keeps ringing until person leaves, irritating as hell. Needless to say it is unplugged
