Replace the Light or Center Push in Your Wired Doorbell Push Button
If the center push button is burned out or broken in your outdoor wired doorbell, buying an entire doorbell may not be necessary; you may only need a wired doorbell button light replacement center push button part.
The products listed here are the actual center part of a wired doorbell push button that a visitor presses with their finger to trigger a doorbell button. These products replace a non-lighted center button with a lighted one or a burned-out one with a new one.
Use a Doorbell Button Light Replacement for an Existing Wired Doorbell Pushbutton
For an existing wired doorbell button, remove the center (circular-shaped center push only) and insert the replacement part. These buttons are available in three different finishes and feature a bulb that illuminates the outer rim of the center push, producing a “halo effect” and allowing nighttime visitors to easily see and locate your wired doorbell button. In most cases, you can pop out the broken circular center push on your website and replace it with one featured on this website, as long as the measurements are the same. The replacement bulbs here feature small flanges you can bend outward after installing the button to ensure it fits snugly inside the wired doorbell push button faceplate you are inserting it into.
Light Button Replacement Part Features:
- Dimensions: diameter is 3/4” and depth is 7/8”
- Recessed mounted to wired push button plate. The electronics of this center push will protrude behind the push button plate.
- Lighted by an LED bulb. Please do not use battery-operated wired door chimes with lighted bulbs as they drain the battery. Use a wired doorbell transformer only.

I have used this doorbell button before and they are not readily available in local Hardware or Lumber yards.rnThey are the only ones that will stand up to our friends the Woodpeckers. The metal face cap holds up much rnlonger than the plastic version which they destroy in a few days. The last one I installed lasted 3 years with rnthe metal face. Now if I could only un-train the Woodpeckers from ringing the bell every night, that would be rngood !!!!!

When this item arrived, I was surprised that it was only a centerpiece and not a centerpiece attached to the small cover / mounting plate. I had recently purchased a Nutone lighted door bell and it was a complete unit (lighted switch and mounting plate). The unit should be sold complete. The mounting plate cannot cost much more than couple of dollars.

Good LED replacement buttons have been hard to find and incandescent buttons just don’t last that long. I bought this to replace an early LED replacement that I had bought at Loews about 5 years ago..not only had the light become dim but it developed a unappealing purplish hue.
The new button is well made, and has an attractive amber light that glows from the periphery of the button through a translucent lens. Overall a big improvement.

I wanted to upgrade my garage door opener instead of the junky plastic ones you get at the big box store. Turns out most garage door openers can utilize standard push button doorbells. It was easy to install in the double switch plate I bought else where. If the light doesn’t light up initially, try reversing the polarity, aka switch the wire terminals.

Do these buttons support multi tone rings? I replaced a lighted button, now it only rings half of a ring when pushed once and it rings the complete multi rings when it is held down. Do you think that is the type of button that was used?

Good morning. If the chime is not sounding all of the way through, then you need a push button with a diode. We do not carry any buttons that have diodes in them but you should be able to purchase a diode at any hardware store. Thank you,

I wired the doorbell and it was lighted but, the wiring instructions stated if the doorbell; when pressed did not play the complete music, I had to install a Diode between the two terminals. NOW the light doesn’t work.
