    WOW, I was not expecting this quality for the price. This is actually a SOLID brass piece, not a brass plated chunk if stamped tin. The finish is bright and the details really dress up my front door. I liked it so much that I replaced the button on the back door with the same button. As someone who has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, I give this product an enthusiastic thumbs-up.

    I looked for some time to find an attractive doorbell that was compatible with the flat surface of our new dutch lap siding. No local store had anything close that was attractive. This is very attractive, fits perfectly, and works well. I replaced the mounting screws with stainless sheet metal screws that have full thread, since it is directly attached to the siding. The wood screws that come with had a smooth portion that would not have gripped. Not an issue at all.

    The doorbell is very cute and good quality. Only downside are the screws which were easily damaged in installation. Still haven’t found small screws to replace the bulky ones we had to end up using.

    Everyone I spoke to was helpful, friendly and willing to share information and make suggestions when asked. Phone calls were returned when I left my phone number, we ended up playing phone tag for a while, but patience paid off with good service. Product was as described and as noted by another reviewer the screws are easily damaged (be sure to drill good pilot holes). This button works well with 12 to 16VAC power from doorbell transformer. I would order again from 1800Doorbell.

    I loved our old doorbell, and when it broke I didn’t think I could find something like it. 1800Doorbell had the exact match for a great price, and I got it earlier than promised. It took me all of 15 minutes to take off the old one and install the new one and, if I do say so, it looks even a little better than the old one. I did have to use the old, longer screws due to some less than ideal installation of the original, but not the fault of the product.

    This doorbell is definitely not what we’d expected. We both were pleased with the doorbell once we opened the package. It has weight to it… not at all like a plastic or acrylic piece, but actually metal. We ordered the classic bronzed option. It was easy to install. The center protrudes from the back about 1/4″ and we didn’t have a hole in the exterior wall that size so my husband made a base and drilled a hole to put behind the button so it would fit flush. It actually matched the same style of wood that our porch light was mounted on. Once my husband finished installing (he did NOT turn off the power due to low voltage) the light around the button illuminated and looked INCREDIBLY CLASSY!!! WOW!! Never thought I’d say a doorbell puts the finishing touch to our front porch decor, but it is a purchase we are VERY satisfied with.

    I like the way the doorbell looks. The only problem I had with it was that the button part wanted to pop out the front of the rosette. Possibly something was missing that keeps it from doing that? Once I had it installed the button is staying put.

    Our new doorbell button arrived very quickly, and was a cinch to install. I’d give it five stars if the button itself was more securely mounted in the circular plate. I found that the button pops out thru the front of the plate quite easily , so some sort of clip or ring would be useful to hold it in place. Otherwise, great product and looks very nice.

    Can this item be mounted on a brick wall? There is an existing wired button that is not working but the wires are there.

    Good afternoon. This is a recessed mount push button which means that the ‘guts’ of the button would need to go into the wall. There would need to be a hole in the mounting surface for the back of the center push button. You would need to look for a surface mount push button which sits directly on the surface and connects to the existing wires. Thank you,

    This doorbell is an almost-exact replica of a broken doorbell that I need to replace. However, my current broken doorbell is screwed into the siding with screws aligned horizontally. All of the photos show the doorbell installed with the screws aligned vertically. I don’t really want to drill more holes in the siding, so can I install this with the screws aligned horizontally?
