    Installation and set-up was a breeze. Works great. I added the strobe which helps because of the noise in the shop. I have the strobe set for the longest on time but that’s only 5 seconds. I think a longer on time would be better. I was told the 9V battery in the transmitter should last at least 6 months but I still think an AC adapter would be a nice option.

    I knew I needed something wireless but wasn’t sure of what was available. The man I spoke with was very helpful in suggesting this product and I am VERY happy with it. It was extremely easy to install. I had it out of the box, mounted and ready to go in 15 minutes and that time includes getting my ladder and drill and putting them away. The bell is volume controlled and I bought an extra for the second floor. One is set up 30′ away with a brick wall between them and the other is on the second floor on the other side of the building (so walls and floors do not interfere) In Short, reliable product, easy install, fast delivery, courteous service! As for price, I have no idea about comparisons because I don’t know what the market is on these things but for what I needed it for, it was worth it to me.

    Range is decent, as long as there are no obstructions to block the signal from the transmitter to the receiver (even within 150 feet). I have tried to put the transmitter in a few different places to keep it from sensing the door closing, but am still having a hard time with it. Overall, satisfied with this system because even with false alarms, I know when somebody enters my store.

I absolutely wish I had just gone here first. The unit works exactly like I had hoped. I simply wanted to hear a sound when a customer comes through our doors. No false alarms. No annoying sounds. It was easy. It was worth every cent. It was more expensive than the unit that I bought at the local home specialty store, but much cheaper once I added on this component and that component from Amazon. What a waste of time and money. Along with 1800doorbell customer service, they steered me to this product which is a perfect match for her bakery front entrance door area. The product works as described, even with the addition of a second receiver, it was shipped on time and in perfect condition and was already programmed for the basic parameters so, it worked out of the box after, of course, installing batteries in the transmitter and plugging the receiver(s) into AC power. And by the way, the radio range is quite amble for a typical small business building. No failures where ever we set the receiver units. So, now after several weeks of operation, the footprint of the IR beam is perfect without any falsing, so, thank you 1800doorbell for an outstanding, reliable and a perfect match to the her bakery’s customer front door walkway foot print.

I bought this kit and added a chime module and it works really well, my second chime module is located about 60 feet away from the sensor and is behind a wall in a back room and still chimes every time.

Although the directions are not explicit we figured it out. Works very well. We like the plain ding-dong tone. Threw away two systems that worked a short time. Both offered a multitude of long annoying sounds and songs. Worth the cost.

    I wasn’t sure what would work for my store. so i called and it was hard for me to explain, so i emailed them pictures of the store layout and was told the product that would be the right fit for my needs. It was a good price and i got it fast. i just used a 2 side Velcro to attach the sensor to the ceiling and it works perfect. i just wished i figured out how to change the sound because the way the instructions say don’t work for some reason.

    Also what is the angle/area of the sensor?
    Is the sensor put above and outside of the door opening range, so the door does not set it off, if no, will it chime twice for door opening and shutting?
    If you have two sensors can they chime differently?

    Good afternoon and thank you for your inquiry. The chime can not be turned off but the volume can be turned all the way down and the receiver can also be unplugged. The angle/area of the sensor would all depend on where it was placed, for example, the higher the sensor is placed, the wider the detection area would be. An image of this is available in the product manual available on the product page. Unfortunately, there is no way to program the unit to know when the door is opening or closing so it would just make the same chime each time someone passes the detection area. You can have multiple receivers and/or transmitters and the transmitters can be programmed to their own zones with their own chimes. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

    There’s a volume control knob on the receiver. At max volume the sound is approximately 80db. Fairly loud but not “overpowering.” One great thing about this product is that you can have multiple receivers which really helps distribute the sound. There’s also a live 12VDC output on back of the receiver to add sirens, strobes, and other accessories, as well as a speaker output.

    The DA50L-A receiver would sound a chime every time the PIR sensor’s detection area was crossed. If you added a strobe light, the receiver would sound and the strobe would flash for one second or 5 seconds.

    The Wireless Entry Alert has been working very well for us and we have been told that people have these that have been working 10 years or more. We have gone through 3 or more of the magnetic type of entry alerts within a short period of a couple of years and searched for a more reliable technology. These are fairly sensitive. We didn’t permanently mount them right away and ended up moving the alert location to the opposite door facing at one entrance to avoid extra dings from people walking inside the room. The family that manufactures these was very helpful when I called for help getting the receiver to pick up the door alerts. We got the equipment communicating in short order. We like having the options on the number of ding dongs. We like just one dong. You can have doors set to different ring patterns. It can be connected to strobe lights etc which we don’t need. I think the mounting bar would be better if it was centered on the door alerts. We put ours down low on the door facing and used Command strips. If they fall they are close to the ground and the strips are rated for several pounds, should be safe. A really nice USA based company product!

    If this is placed on a wall near the floor just a few feet from where the doors open, will that capture anyone walking in front of it? Putting it overhead does not work in our space and there are two doors right together where people can walk in to an entry way, so I’m wondering about the range if it’s not overhead.     Good morning. The DA50L-A PIR sensor can be placed above the door, the higher up the sensor, the wider the detection range will be. This system has a wireless signal of up to 500 feet and the receiver can be plugged in anywhere within that range. For larger areas, we recommend the ERA-PRDCR which has a range of up to 4000 feet.     This is exactly what we needed for our therapy clinic. I purchased another brand first but it was very annoying. It had only three volumes and the low volume was way too loud. It had 52 chimes but all except for one were tunes/songs which were completely unacceptable for our situation. This unit has a volume knob which gives you complete control over the volume. It also has more sounds that are appropriate for a therapy clinic instead of tunes/songs.

    We have tried many other door bell entry systems for our shop. All the cheaper ones only lasted a month or two. Also they only worked when the doors were physically opened. Now the new unit works as people cross into the thresh hold by movement alone so we can open the doors and still hear people walking in. It was very easy to set up and so far so good. The only very slight drawback was a limited choice of ringer sounds but the normal “ding dong” is fine. No one sneeking up on us any more!
