Before the WDK-ERA-KIT, when you wanted a Long-Range Warehouse Chime with Loud Sound, it wasn’t easy to find.  There were only a couple of options.  One is to wire a doorbell or two, which is cumbersome, inconvenient and time consuming.  However, most wireless systems don’t have the range necessary to power through the obstacles seen in warehouses (concrete, metal, etc.).  That is until we created the WDK-ERA Series of Wireless Door Chimes.

If you would rather have a kit with a visual notification, please see our Warehouse Doorbell Kit with a Strobe Light.  This is a Long Range Warehouse Doorbell with a Loud Sound. These products were created for industrial, warehouse, shop, and office environments.  The “bones” of this kit is the ERA-UTDCR Long Range Doorbell Kit.  This kit features a wireless push button that can send a signal up to 4,000 ft. away from the plugin receiver featured in the kit.  By itself, the receiver is loud at approximately 85 decibels.  In addition to this, you can purchase additional receivers and spread them throughout your facility to help distribute the sound.  By itself, this is an excellent kit for businesses.

The WDK-ERA-KIT series features the ERA-UTDCR and an additional bell (multiple choices available) to increase the sound output to 90-115 decibels.  To hear each add-on sound, please scroll down the page.

Like other products in the ERA series of products, you can add more push buttons, door window contacts, or plug-in chime receivers to augment your system. Each ERA-DCRX receiver has four zones, each with a live 12VDC output.  Zone 1, in this video, is paired with a long-range wireless magnetic door contact that is triggered when the door is opened.

Types of Accessories (Fire Alarm Bells, Strobe, Sirens) you can wire to this kit:

The image below shows how the strobe/siren (unit on the left) is wired to the ERA-DCRX receiver.  After installation, the cover should be snapped back onto the base unit.  In this example, the strobe is wired to the 12V DC output for zone one.  When this zone is triggered (by ERA-UTX, ERA-DSTX, or ERA-PIR), the chime will sound, and the connect strobe/siren will trigger.

Each kit comes with a bundle of 15 feet, 2-lead 18AWG wire used to connect the bell or accessory below to the live 12v output on the receiver.  Learn more about each of the bell accessories by clicking the link to the product.  Scroll down the page to see how to wire the unit.


The receiver in this kit has four zones to which you will pair a transmitter/sensor, with each zone playing a distinct sound. In this kit, you will also select an external accessory (FIRE ALARM BELL, SIREN, CHROME BELL.MINI STROBE-SIREN) to add to a particular zone to increase the sound.  In addition, you can select strobes or other external sound devices to add to different zones using the 12V DC output.

Please note.  These are the sounds the actual receiver plays.  They can be turned down, muted, or played with the add-on accessory chosen in the kit.

💡 Note: polarity needs to be observed when connecting the Fire Alarm Bell. The RED wire from the bell connects to the positive (+) terminal screw, and the BLACK wire connects to the negative (-) terminal screw.

💡 How to Wire the SS-PSIREN-W to the ERA-DCRX

How do these accessories connect to the receiver?

On the back of the receiver are 4 x 12V DC outputs.  You connect the supplied wire from the accessory to the back of the receiver using the supplied wire.   When the sensor transmits a signal, the receiver will play the associated chime sound and send a 12V DC to the connected device.   For example, if you have the 12V DC Chrome Buzzer connected to the receiver, when someone at the front door pushes the button, the receiver plays a chime sound, and the chrome bell will go off for the set duration (5 seconds up to 2 minutes).

The receiver also features a 1 x C-FORM relay.  The time setting for the relay will be the same as specified for the 12V DC outputs.  The C-Form relay may be set to any combination of zones.  You can set the relay when zone one triggers or any other combination of zones.  It is important to note that the C-FORM relay DOES NOT supply power.  Below is an example wiring scenario using the C-FORM relay.

    sometimes when we call them on their phones they do not pick up because of the noise .

    Do you sell a system that would allow us to activate an alarm loud enough that they could hear it and know to look at their phone and except our phone calls that we could activate remotely from our iPhones .

    Good afternoon. The WDK-ERA-KIT has a decibel rating of 85-90 and has several different accessories to choose from. The Siren would be an additional 105 decibels, the firebell would be an additional 85 decibels and the buzzer would be an additional 80-85 decibels. This system is also available with a strobe light under the sku WDK-ERA-STROBE and the strobe can be programmed to flash for up to 2 minutes. With both of these systems, you can have up to 12 transmitters and an unlimited amount of receivers and they would all be compatible. The ERA system would work separately from your phones, unfortunately, we do not have any product that is compatible with a smartphone at this time. Please let us know if you have any other questions.     I need a contact application but my distance from contact device to receiver is about 1/4 to 1/2 mile away and then it would have to go through a concrete wall. The contact would be mounted outside and receiver inside. Could you help point me in a direction that would work. Thanks

    I would recommend the ERA-UTDCR, the WDK-ERA-KIT or the WDK-ERA-STROBE. The ERA system has a wireless range of up to 4000 feet and a completely weather proof door contact.     It took about 3 weeks to be delivered but I don’t think that is your fault. Covid-19 has slowed deliveries and I live in Canada. But when I called you, I got a quick response. I also got good service when I first enquired about your product. It has now arrived and I have tried it. It works great!. I’m using it on an outdoor gate for truckers to ring when they have deliveries. The switch is at it’s maximum distance of about 400’. When I walked it a little further away, it stopped working. But in fairness, it does need to go through concrete walls, a drywall partition and a steel tank area. It’s installed in a cluttered noisy environment but the sound carries well. The strobe could be a little brighter but it’s ok. I’d like to experiment with adding more switches, zones and alarms. I’m sure there will be more applications that come up where I can use this product.

    Connection between doorbell button and receiver works great! Signal goes through double steel walls. Fairly easy to install, only had one issue. Found out that when hooking up additional siren/strobe wire you must open receiver case to access connection. Siren/strobe is loud enough to be heard on receiving floor with a lot of activity. Overall this is a great product for the price.

    These products, including the wireless button transmitter at the customer service window, receiver control box in the office, 6″ outdoor bell, and the wireless pocket receiver performed much better than we expected.

    This location is a law enforcement impounded vehicle storage facility that extends a city block deep. The outdoor bell is good for notification, but the main thing we like is the long range wireless remote receiver when driving loud machinery; it has a vibrate alert as well as a variety of audible alerts with volume control to choose from.

    Good morning. There are 4 zones on the DCRX receiver and 1 12VDC output – so you may only use 1 12VDC (such as a flashing strobe or chrome buzzer) per DCRX receiver. You may have an unlimited number of receivers. To accomplish what you want to do, you would need one DCRX receiver for the flashing strobe and an additional DCRX receiver for the chrome buzzer.     Thanks for the question. This would be a good choice. To clarify though, when you say “bells/buzzers (4-6) in different rooms” are you referring to hearing the sound in 4-6 different rooms? If so, you can add as many receivers to this kit, the ERA-DCRX, as you want. When the push button or door contact is triggered, all the receivers that push button is programmed to, will play the selected chime sound.

    I have a home business with a woodworking shop attached and no way to know if a customer enters the store when I’m in my woodshop. This sounds like a possible solution.

    Do I need internet to run this wireless system because reception is horrendous in the area.

    Or, how far can wire be run? It’s a 100 year old building with a roof built over a roof (hence 2 attics above the work area) and concrete walls dividing spaces so running wires will be tricky.

    What is the guarantee and return policy?
