Description
The RC8532R is a versatile, battery-operated wireless receiver specifically designed to work with the Carlon door chime product line. This receiver is a key component of the RC3510 battery door chime kit, providing reliable performance and ease of installation. If you already own a Carlon (Dimango) wireless door chime transmitter, you can integrate this receiver into your existing system.
This allows you to expand your doorbell capabilities, add more chime locations around your home, or replace a faulty device. The receiver enhances your home’s communication system, ensuring you never miss a visitor at your door.
- For mounting purposes, hole to hole width is 4-3/4”
- This receiver is fully compatible with Carlon (Dimango and Thomas and Betts) wireless door chime products. To use this battery-operated receiver, you must have a compatible wireless transmitter such as the RC3301.
- Weatherproof capability makes this great for patios and decks
- Powered by 4 x c-sized alkaline batteries (not included) that should power the unit for 6-12 months before you need to change the batteries (under normal usage)
- The receiver has 13 different melodies and sound options to choose from…the transmitter will determine the available options. RC3301 push button provides all 13 different options. RC3050T (extend a chime transmitter) only allows 6. See RC3500 for specific tunes allowed.
- Flexible mounting design allows for vertical or horizontal mounting (also may set it directly on a tabletop)
- 32 available privacy codes to prevent interference from neighboring devices
- 1-year manufacturer’s warranty
- Manufactured by Thomas and Betts (Carlon brand)

JUDITH TANNER –
can you change chimes from receiver? or just the button

The chimes can only be changed using the transmitter or push button.

I have purchased two of the RC8523R Carlon Battery Powered Wireless Door Chime Receiver in the last 5 years. Shouldn’t they last longer than 2-3 years?
Also, even when the door bell doesn’t work when you push the button outside at my house, when the neighbor across the street button is pushed my door bell rings. What can I do?
Giorgio Dalcin –
Dear Sir: I bought a Carlon entrance alert chime by mistake. Can get a door bell button to work off the plug in chime. The model number number number is RC8253R
1800Doorbell –
The compatible push buttons would be models RC3301, RC3311, RC4121 and RC4130.

I had a RC8532R receiver for about 5 years with 2 doorbells and have worked fine. Now it seems like only the doorbell that is closer to the receiver (the front doorbell) will work. (I tried moving the receiver closer to the back door and now that one will work but the front door won’t.) Tried swapping the two doorbell locations of each other but that didn’t work either. I only tried replacing the batteries in the main unit and only one of the doorbells. I wouldn’t think that the batteries would be the issue since it works as long as the receiver is positioned near the doorbell. Unfortunately I can’t move the receiver from its chosen spot as it covers up the old wiring for the original doorbell.

We have 2 extenders and they both work in tandem in different areas of our home. Great solution for hearing doorbell.
Mary T Gain –
Very professional answers to my questions, very efficient ordering, very courteous customer service.
Joan –
When replacing button batteries do they both go in same direction with the plus side up on top of each other?
Ed Rush –
Our seven-year-old one failed, even after I changed batteries, so I bought a new one. It turned out that some of the unused batteries I put into it recently were bad, so I didn’t need to buy a new one after all. With fresh batteries, both the old one and the new one work just fine.
Richard Euhus –
Great product! I have remote bells upstairs and out on the patio. 1800Doorbell has great prices and fast shipping!
Alicia Getty –
I bought this for my dad who needed a second receiver. Was surprised how simple it was to set up the second receiver. Have had the 1st receiver for a few years & never a problem. Would recommend them!
JR –
I ordered 2 more of the Carlon wireless door chimes to extend the sound range of the door chime. They worked perfectly. I had to contact the company to insure they would work and they responded by email quickly and very nice. A phone call by me was necessary as well and the lady who helped me was knowledgeable, nice, and professional. I would highly recommend this product and this company. Great!

Size, h x w. Need to cover a 4×4 in box where the wired chimes were located. Also, this receiver is compatible with the Carlon Wireless Doorbell Push Button in Faux / Nickel Finish – Brushed Nickel
SKU: RC4133 ?
1800Doorbell –
The mounting holes on back of the unit are 4-3/4” across so it should easily cover a 4 x 4 hole. Yes, this is compatible with the RC4133

How do I change battery in doorbell
A.S. –
We wondered if the doorbell controller we got long ago could be compatible with something on the market today. Then we discovered 1800Doorbell. The price was good, it came quickly, in great shape, and works perfectly.

I am seeking to replace a Carlon plug-in door chime extender #RC8258R. Do you still carry this model or someting like it? My main door chime is not wireless.
Raymond L Knapp Jr –
I wanted to expand my system in my house and already had 2. The new one worked as expected and would recommend it as an additional ringer.
Frank Sawin –
I was updating the old Rittenhouse Chime doorbell that I could no longer get parts for. The Carlon battery powered unit emulates the chime sound perfectly and was easy to install. Because it’s battery operated I could just mount it over the old real chime unit which is now a decorative antique. I’m very pleased to have the correct sound back. Hope the batteries last a long time, but they should be very easy to replace when the time comes.
Marlin Rieck –
Work,s like a charm

I keep putting new batteries in door bell and chimes but it stops working after a few weeks, all of the batteries test good, what’s wrong?
Robert Bennett (verified owner) –
I love this doorbell . It has so many sounds. One for every holiday.
Pat Keeley (verified owner) –
Product was easy to install and shipped on time. I would recommend to others. Have it in family room and basement and connection is not an issue.
Robert Niebauer –
We just bought this house and it has a Carlon Battery Chime doorbell. This morning it went off on all sorts of melodies and we assumed that the device needed to have its batteries renewed. After replacing the old batteries with market fresh ones… the device stopped working at all.
What’s wrong..
Ernesto Solis-Lugo (verified owner) –
Perfect replacement for hard-to-find doorbell system.
Chenelle Thompson –
Doorbell stopped working I put new button batteries on the outside button and new C batteries on the inside pack It’s still not chiming. Should I assume something has malfunctioned with the outside button?
1800Doorbell –
Good afternoon. The issue is usually the outdoor button since it is out in the elements. You can try a replacement button and see if that fixes the issue, I have included a link for the button below. As long as your current system was manufactured after 2001, the button will sync up with your receiver. You can find the manufactured by date located on a round QC sticker on the back of your receiver. There will be several numbers printed on the sticker, the last two would be the manufactured by date. Thank you,

How do to change chime or door bell sounds on a Caron battery operated door bell?
Todd Lensing (verified owner) –
Our old model of this exterior doorbell extender took a crap. We own a small motel where guests need to ring doorbel to gain access to our in-house office. As we like to spend time in our back yard and gardening it has been great to be able to hear when someone arrives. After searching we were thrilled to find the exact same model, hooked it up, and have be so happy to have an outdoor ringer back. Very reasonable price too. Thank you!
Patricia Gabriel –
I just replaced the batteries with new ones but when I pushed the button to maybe change the chime nothing works. Door bell will not work.
Glen Irons (verified owner) –
I’ve had one of these for quite a few years. It still works well.
I’ve added a second chime to provide better coverage of sound throughout the home. Now I can hear the dang bell all over the house (which is what I needed).
Chung Fai Leung (verified owner) –
Good product and good service. One piece of LR14 C Battery USB Power Supply Cable is used to replace 4 LR14 C batteries and the result is satisfactory. Overall very satisfied with this purchase,

I have 2 Carlon RC8253R and need an additional receiver for another room. I installed a Ring video doorbell that works with the 2 existing RC8253R receivers. It is interesting that the numbers almost match (just a coincidence)?
