Description
Need a Louder Wired Doorbell? Use the ERA-EXKIT to extend your Wired Doorbell’s range up to 4,000 ft.
Most wired doorbells play a simple “ding-dong” sound, are located in an inconvenient room of your home, and just aren’t loud enough to hear throughout the home. This is a common problem many homeowners and business owners face. Finding out that you have missed a delivery, visitor, or customer is extremely frustrating.
Safeguard Supply developed the ERA-EXKIT to solve that problem. Simply connect the small transmitter into your existing wired doorbell and plug the receiver into a standard wall outlet, pair the two together and choose the chime sound you want to hear, and you’ve immediately solved the problem. With a volume control and a bright flashing strobe light, you won’t miss another visitor, customer or delivery. In addition, it’s easy to add more receivers so that you can hear the alert in multiple locations. Have a basement, garage, or bedroom where you can’t hear the doorbell ring? Add receivers/chimes in every room! With a range of 4,000 ft., this intelligent system will reach all areas of your home or business, guaranteed.
How This Doorbell Extender Works
The kit ships with two pieces, a small wired transmitter that connects into an existing wired doorbell and a 1 plugin, chime receiver. When a visitor pushes the outdoor wired doorbell pushbutton, your doorbell will chime as usual. Simultaneously, the small transmitter will send a radio signal to the plugin chime receiver, which will play the melody that you have chosen.

Inside your wired doorbell, there are typically three screws. One for the front door, one for the back door, and a “common” terminal that comes from the wired doorbell transformer that provides power to your doorbell. There are three wires on the transmitter, one for the front door, one for the back, and one for the transformer. If you only have one door, you will only use the front door wire and let the other wire hang loose.
The small transmitter will be connected to the doorbell for a front and/or back doorbell. With a range of up to 4,000 ft., you can add additional receivers throughout your home, all of which will chime simultaneously.

Welcome to this exciting video on the ERA-EXKIT – a device that can help you get a louder wired doorbell without breaking the bank. In this video, we will look at all the features of this fantastic product. So if you’re looking for a way to boost the security of your home while also improving your quality of life, make sure to check out the ERA-EXKIT today!
Where Does the Transmitter Mount?
The transmitter is small, measuring 1.75” H x 2.00” W x 0.75” D. , allowing it to easily tuck inside of most wired door chime cabinets. With the included double-sided tape, you can also mount it above the wired doorbell or to the side, if you prefer.
The components of this kit are also compatible with all ERA receivers and transmitters. Add transmitters/sensors such as a driveway sensor (know when someone enters your property), a motion sensor, and door contact (know when a door is opened). Other receivers, such as the ERA-DCRX desktop/wall mount receiver and the ERA-VPRX portable receiver are compatible with this system and allow you to expand and modify the areas you monitor and where the chime notification plays.
More About the ERA-RXPG Receiver
The ERA-RXPG is a compact plugin receiver that plugs into a standard wall outlet. Receiver dimensions are: 4.75”H x 2.75”W x 1.5” D.
It has three operational modes:
- Strobe-only mode: a bright flashing strobe that flashes for approximately 15 seconds when triggered.
- Sound-only mode: 12 different tunes/melodies to choose from. The front and back doors are typically programmed to varying sounds so you can determine which door the visitor or delivery is at.
- Strobe & sound: the strobe will flash for about 15 seconds, and the selected melody will play for the length of the chime.

4500 sqf home with a single hard wired doorbell center of main floor. If on the 3 season porch or in the basement could never hear doorbell. After missing to “signature required” fedex deliveries while on the porch, I did some research and bought this product. Put one receiver on porch and one in basement. Now I can even hear the doorbell of out on the patio with a window open on the porch.
Chris Hofrichter –
Installed in 10 minutes. Pairing the transmitter took 10 seconds. It’s very loud. Love the idea it can be moved from room to room just by plugging it into a different electrical outlet. Great product for Seniors.

We’re very pleased with our doorbell extenders. When we are in the family room we couldn’t hear the doorbell ringing and missed several people that came to see us. We no longer have that problem. We are very pleased.

Easy to install. Works fine. Liked the fact that it builds on the existing system rather than replacing it.

I bought this remote doorbell kit and a second receiver. The installation was quite simple. I would recommend this device to anyone who wants to add a flashing light and sounder to their existing doorbell chime.

The transmitter installed inside the doorbell chime housing easily. Wires of good quality and length.
The receiver is great. Very well made and has multiple features. Volume control is very handy to accommodate location acoustics.
Dan Cappannari (verified owner) –
This was easy to install and allows me to hear my doorbell when I’m in my office which I otherwise can’t. It was a great company to deal with. I like this product so much I ordered a second receiver for upstairs.

What do I order to be able to hear a wired doorbell in three additional different locations?
Richard Tanis (verified owner) –
Your wireless doorbell has been a life save for us. Before, when in our lower level of our house we often could not hear our door bell and would miss someone trying to stop in or drop something off. With our wireless 1800 door bell we will never miss someone at our front or back door. Your technology is a welcome relief to us. Thank You

What is the font on the receiver. Instructions say press font on receiver.
Gene Widenhofer (verified owner) –
The transmitter and receiver (ERA-EXTX and ERA-DCRX) work very well indeed. Although my house presents no strain for the advertised transmission range, it is large enough that I need more sound to fill the volume. Therefore, I will be ordering two more receivers, taking advantage of the expandability you offer to make up for my hearing deficiency. I am very pleased with the design of this system!
Jim Des Jardins (verified owner) –
Well done

How do we pair the transmitter to the receiver ? (ERA-EXKIT)
Thanks in advance for your time !

I purchased this for my uncle and aunt who are both very hard of hearing but pretty much refuse to wear hearing aides. The ringer extender was great just by itself and offered plenty of volume and a few really loud annoying ring types that I loved but the flashing light addition really made a big difference to them they loved that the most and now they know when everyone they want to visit is at their door and even a few they don’t. LOL

This delightful company sells just about everything dealing with Doorbells, extenders, buttons, etc. Their products are of the highest quality, and they ship so quickly, and you receive their fine products in a couple of days after ordering them. I have been most pleased with every item I have ordered from them, and they have solved, what I thought, were problems I could not fix (For Example a couple of “dead spots” in my house where I could not hear the doorbell ring. This company and their customer service is none better. Try them, you will not be disappointed in any way.

Will you unit work with a Blink Video doorbell that is wired to my Transformer and door bell.
The Blik door bell when pushe only sends the signal to the ringer when pushed.
I need to extend that range with your unit.
DB (verified owner) –
I was able to install according to the instructions with ease. Pairing the receiver to the ring unit was easy as well. We are using this with a 1957 vintage wired doorbell to a new outdoor living area on the back of the house to be able to hear the doorbell while outside on the porch.
Customer –
The doorbell chime is a hallway. Is there a way to hide the three wires from the ERA-EXKIT transmitter to the doorbell chime from view?

I am so pleased with my experience, not just with the ERA-EXKIT Wired Doorbell Range Extender, but with 1800dorbell.com. I had to order the extender on the phone because their website’s checkout was temporarily not working. The salesperson could not have been nicer. The website has great information, including installation instructions and a video. I received it promptly and, just as advertised, it was easy to install and works great. Thank you, 1800doorbell. Great product.

Of course, I’m an old man and I didn’t know anything like this existed. As it turned out, it is the perfect answer to an old problem of not hearing the doorbell from the back area of our house. Thank you 1800 Doorbell!!

Instructions were easy to follow and the transmitter was attached easily. All plug in’s worked like a charm.

Worked as advertised! Loud! We can hear at far end of house-hurrah!
Jack W. (verified owner) –
The doorbell extender is more than what it’s advertised to be. Very easy to set up, install and better yet, HEAR!!! Very pleased with the product. A “must have” necessity for every person with a hearing loss and the doorbell is in the other end of the house. I haven’t used the visual (light) that is on my unit (yet), but sure can see how that would be invaluable to someone with a total hearing loss or using it in an area that has a very high noise level.
Pamela (verified owner) –
This is the only device I could find that would allow me to have two doorbell chimes on one doorbell, that would not decrease the loudness level of the two chimes in the process. When I am in my bedroom, I am hearing impaired and I coild not hear the doorbell chime, which is by the front door. I had an electrician move it to the hall, by the master bedroom, but I could no longer hear it if I was on the living room or kitchen. Now I can hear the doorbell chime from any location in the house! And the price was reasonable and not difficult for my electrician to install. He put in an electrical outlet in which to plug it in, right where the doorbell chime was, before I had it moved near the bedroom. I am so very happy!
Robert S. (verified owner) –
Works as expected. Flashing light may be best feature. The included directions for the “kit” were a bit confusing as there were setup/connection directions for two different models of receivers.
KEVIN S. (verified owner) –
Worked exactly like they said it would. Extremely easy to hook up and wonderful service over the phone to help you get exactly what you need. Furthermore, the service over the phone was by a real person. Kudos!
