How to Install This Door Chime with Strobe Light?

Simple Setup, Profound Impact

The kit has two major components: one plugin receiver and one wireless push button.   The push button comes programmed from the factory, which means you only have to mount it outside next to the door and plug the receiver into a standard wall outlet.  If you want to change the melody programmed to the receiver or add a wireless push button, follow the instructions.  Of course, you can always call us at 800-366-7235, and one of our support representatives would be happy to walk you through the process.

This product has a range of up to 600 feet.  Metal, concrete, stucco, brick, aluminum, and some other materials may interfere with the transmission range of the transmitter to the receiver – if you need a flashing doorbell to work in this type of application, please see the ERA-DCKIT with Doorbell Flasher for the Deaf.  The kit works virtually the same way (ERA-DCKIT has more features) and has an extended range of up to 4,000 ft. from the push button to the receiver.

Do you want to put a wireless chime receiver in another room?

That’s easy, too.  Purchase another WC180-SS kit and plug the receiver into the wall outlet where you want to hear it (make sure you pair it with your push buttons).  If you want a push-button for another door, purchase an add-on button and pair it with the receiver, and you have two doors covered.  The WC180-SS allows each additional push button to play its tune, so you will know which door is ringing—excellent Wireless Doorbell for the Hard of Hearing.

    Very easy to program, mount and gets your attention when activated. We are using this device at our Admissions Desk with the strobe and chime located in our Managers Office. When someone at admissions needs the manager, they push the door bell and the strobe lights lets the manager know he/she is needed. Chime is turned off.

    This device installed easily once the dead battery for the push button unit had been replaced. The chime portion of the doorbell is not overly loud. It would be satisfactory for someone with normal hearing. However, the strobe light portion is very strong and bright. There were no instructions with the unit on how to change the chime settings. Overall I’d give it a B but I’m still looking for a hard of hearing doorbell that would wake the dead when the button was pushed combined with a strobe light.

    Thank you 1800DOORBELL!!! My 86 yr. old mother is, let’s face it. Deaf! Since Dec, 2016, she has had 2 strokes, which has effected her mobility. One day I went by her home to check on her and she did not hear the doorbell (I am not sure the old bell was working properly, the home is over 40 yrs. old), so I decided she needed a lighted doorbell. Because I live in St. Augustine, FL and our city has the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, I am very aware of the problems the deaf encounter whether from birth or age.

    Your website was easy to use! I placed the order and received the doorbell in less than 1 week. My brother has installed it and my Mom loves it. I am thinking about another light for the area near her bedroom and office and if I do you will be the store I turn to for that purchase.

    This is an excellent product with one exception, the range from the doorbell button to the bell and strobe light is limited and can be weak depending on the material you are mounting the button. When mounted on the aluminum frame of a storm door the as not enough strength in the signal to ring the bell less than twenty five feet away. Button must be mounted on wood or vinyl siding.

    I’ve been through multiple buttons for this doorbell and while the plug-in doorbell unit is very good, our harsh Arizona climate is hard on the buttons. They last a year or two and then I need to replace them. I’ve search for something better without success. If you live someplace where the summer temps stay under 115, you may have a better experience.

    The label “almost deaf” is as weird as “almost pregnant”! Having built in a system that rang a miniature school bell inside the house, I needed to replace the antiquated system when the nylon rope broke. Repairing the chord and re-routing it inside the walls, meant major headaches. Enter the remote bell with strobe. Youzer batman—what a life saver. thanks

    I installed the wireless button and three chimes with strobe lights at my Dad’s. He is profoundly hard of hearing and even with hearing aids cannot hear the door bell. The chimes with strobe lights were placed in the areas of his home he frequents and now he knows when someone is at his door.

    The set up and installation were really simple. The only thing that took some time was avoiding placing the button directly on stucco. I had to fashion a wooden base under the button to help extend the range.

    This is an easy solution to a common problem. The products arrived when promised, work as promised and were easy to install.
