    My Dakota long-range driveway monitor was relatively easy to set up. The motion sensor actually has the option for longer range than advertised which allows me to monitor a doorway on a storage facility along with the driveway. I’ve only been using Dakota system for 10 days and it detected all of the traffic and no false signals. My only regret is that I didn’t have one sooner.

    So far so good! Have it at end of driveway and does go off with vehicles entering which gives me time to look out before being surprised. At first my husband got irritated trying to get it programmed. It’s not just plug it up then hang it up, you get to set sensitivity, distance then alarm sound. That all has to match up to have it work successfully. Once you get that done, then you plug it up and place where it works for you. We tilted it a lil too much and the cows set it off!! ( they were not walking down driveway) . Another thing the detector has no rubber seal to ensure moisture didn’t get into it so we taped around it for extra measure. All in all it’s working like it’s supposed to.

    The transmitter uses a 9V battery and the receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet. You should be able to get about 12 months of life on the battery but it heavily depends on the quality of battery and how frequently the transmitter is used.
