Who Uses this No Batteries Entry Door Chime:
The 1800Doorbell EZ Chime Entrance Alert Chime is a popular choice for businesses, gas stations, convenience stores, or other retail locations that want a quality entrance alert that requires no wires or batteries to operate. The unit is installed on the door frame, and a small magnet is installed on the door. A plunger with a metal end sticks out of the chime box and sticks to the magnet (when the door is shut.)
The plunger is pulled as the door opens until the force is too much for the magnet. This causes the plunger to retract inside the box, where it strikes a metallic plate, producing a loud but gentle “ding” sound. This entrance alert is practical and ideal for areas with 2,000 square feet or less. The installation is very similar to the eztone door chime installation and is easy to do.
Many people choose this product over other entry alert products because it does not require batteries, wiring, or electricity. It is maintenance-free and at a great price point, making it a standout product. We would not recommend it for areas larger than 2,000 ft. because it is not extremely loud. It plays a gentle “ding” sound that you can hear easily in smaller retail locations such as gas stations, fast food locations, or smaller offices.

How EZCHIME Works
The EZCHIME’s greatest strength is its simplicity. The device consists of two parts: a chime unit and a magnet. The chime unit attaches to the door frame while the magnet is placed on it. When the door opens, the magnet’s separation from the unit triggers a pleasant chime sound.

EZ Chime Mechanical Entry Alert Sound:
This mechanical door chime alert works on doors that typically stay closed. The chime action of this device works when the door is opened. The strike pen inside the unit is attached to a small doughnut-shaped magnet screwed into the door. When the door opens, the striking pin is pulled by a spring until it is pulled away from the magnet, and the force of the spring forces it to strike a small metal plate inside the unit, producing the chime sound.

after using my door alert for around 2 mo. im inclined to write a review. mostly never do a review from the time of contact , which was very friendly, helpful, knowing of the product , i received two door alerts which i find to do the job very well. the tone can be heard at the back of my store over the noise of ref. compressors and other store noise. distance is 64 feet from end to end. i would recommended these door alerts to any small business to help insure safety.upon contacting the business i was treating very well including informing me i had forgot to sign the check, yes they accept checks, and were sending it back for my signature, i received the delivery in less than 3 wks. the only problem i have is it is advertise as gray in color when in fact it is more of a off white it didnt match my door way but that isnt what makes it work i will be buying more product from this company as needed good to have a honest company working with you GOD BLESS AMERICA and products

The EZ Chime would only sound a gentle ding, there is no way to change the sound for different doors. We would recommend the DA50L-A, the LRA-C1000 or the LH-4000 if you were looking for a product for multiple doors with multiple chimes.

I perform maintained for a client that is a large bank. I have used this style now for a couple years now. We where having wireless style door bells to inform employees when clients where entering or exiting the building. The problem with this style where a battery was required on the door sensor and when the battery dies a work order would be placed and I would spend more time driving to the site just to replace the battery. This device has now allowed me to respond to more import work then to just change a battery. And yes it is a security issue for bank when they did not work properly
