Description
A Reliable Wireless Driveway Alarm Made in the USA!
Wireless driveway alarms, like the Di2000S-A (TXRX2000A), will keep you informed and safe by alerting you when a car, person, or animal enters your driveway or any area you want to monitor. The system sends an alert to a receiver, the RX2000A, when the passive infrared motion sensor detector is triggered.

These are just a few reasons this wireless driveway alarm has been and continues to be our number-one selling monitoring system. Although this is a best-in-class system to monitor your driveway, it has many uses beyond that. Customers mount transmitters/sensors along fence lines to monitor movement along a property line. We even have a customer who uses the Di2000S-A to monitor when his cows break through his fence line–no kidding!

The Plugin Receiver in this Kit:
The receiver, Di2000R-A or RX2000A, supplied in the kit, plugs into a standard wall outlet. On the back of the receiver is a volume control knob that allows you to adjust the volume according to your preference. Also on the back of the receiver/speaker are two-terminal screws; one powers an external speaker, allowing you to hear the chime sound in another room or location. The second terminal screw is for a live 12-volt output, which can power various accessories such as strobe lights, sirens, counters, X10 interfaces, and virtually any product powered by 12 volts.
The receiver plays four (4) different sounds. An unlimited number of sensors can be programmed into the receiver for the Di2000T-A (TX2000A). Each programmed sensor will instruct the receiver to play one of the four available sounds. Note that the line-of-sight range from the transmitter to the receiver is up to 1,000 feet. Environmental factors can interfere with and reduce the range. For example, the exterior brick of a home may reduce the signal by 25%, while a steel building exterior could reduce the signal by 40%.
The back of the receiver has a series of dip switches labeled 1-6. Dip switches 1-4 must match the corresponding dip switches on the transmitter/sensor programmed to the receiver.
The receiver has four terminal screws on the back, powering 12V DC devices and a speaker. The 12V DC output can be used for buzzers, strobe lights, etc. The output duration may be set to 5 seconds or 20 seconds. The speaker will play the selected sound for the sensor/transmitter that triggers it.
Scroll down the page to hear the sounds played by the receiver. The four sounds are set using the dip switch settings below:
- Ding Dong (5 Off & 6 OFF)
- Single Ding (5 ON & 6 OFF)
- Double Ding Dong (5 OFF & 6 ON)
- Turbo Sound (5 ON & 6 ON)
The Transmitter in this Kit
The transmitter/sensor in this kit is the TX2000A (Di2000T-A) by Rodann Electronics. When a car passes through the monitored zone, the sensor sends a wireless signal up to 1,000 ft. away to the plugin receiver shown above.

The transmitter is a passive infrared sensor designed for outdoor use. It is powered by 2 x AA Alkaline batteries (not included). To insert batteries, remove the two screws on the back of the cover (inside screw wells). On the circuit board of the sensor/transmitter is a jumper setting where you can adjust the sensitivity of the transmitter. It is set to normal by default with a jumper on pins A and B. For higher, move the jumper to pins B and C. For low sensitivity, remove the jumper (save for future use).
How to Position the Transmitter/Sensor
Ideally, using the included aluminum mounting bracket, mount the sensor approximately 3-4 inches high on a non-metallic post. Point the antenna down to help keep moisture out and drain effectively. This will not affect functionality.
The invisible passive infrared beam shoots out to approximately 50′. At 25′, the detection area is approximately 1’x1′, and at 50′ is 2’x2′.
The TXRX2000A Driveway Informer Kit is Expandable
Each RX2000A (Di2000R-A) can work with four different TX2000A (Di2000T-A) sensors. The number of receivers a transmitter/sensor can work with is unlimited.

I have been buying these driveway alarms (and installing) then for my customers for years. The manufacturer’s published range on this driveway alarm is actually 1,000 feet but I have installed it for customers who have gotten close to 3,000 feet range.rnrnAs a side note, we also use this as an outdoor entrance alert product. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is b/c nothing is perfect..I wish there was a portable receiver with this.
Johnny –
I purchased the Driveway Informer/Alarm several weeks ago and it has met my needs for the entrance to my property. I am aware that someone has entered the property before they come to the door. It is a well-made product and easy to install.
Wayne –
The driveway informer possibly saved our life on Dec. 8, 2010 when intruders approached our home at 4AM. I held a gun on the two thugs until Sheriff’s Dept arrived. One had three warrants and was a reg. sex offender. The Driveway Informer can be your life-saver!
Joe –
The driveway alarm works well. We have it about 500 ft down our driveway from the house so we know when someone is approaching the house. It is a good product for the price. We tried a cheaper version that was rated for up to 1,000 ft but would not work at 500 ft.
kittypat –
Purchased 2 alarms and an extra sensor. One alarm was to alert me if my 96 yr. old Mom had unexpected visitors when I was next door at my home. Her dementia prevented her from using good judgement and I couldn’t stand every minute watching the house to see who called. Brother installed and darn thing worked so great every vehicle using our deadend road was announced! Yep, the 4 AM news carrier! That got fixed quickly! The second unit and extra sensor went to my brother’s house. His worked too good also, but both are adjusted now and are fantastic. Only took about 15 min. to install. Have never felt so secure!
Mary –
Works great – even around a bend and through the trees – all the way to grandma’s house!rnJust wish it had the option of a longer chime (maybe 8 dongs instead of 4). Not disappointed at all, would recommend to others!!
Peter –
Item working good so far, wish outside sensor was a little smaller
Jack –
This was a repeat purchase of the Driveway Informer. Obviously were satisfied with the first unit which lasted over five years until it was damaged. Support is excellent. Highly recommended!
Morris –
We use the DI2000S-A Driveway Informer. It replaced other less expensive brands. This one is worth the money. It send the signal quicker than any others. Easy to install and ready to work in minutes.
Jle –
Love product, easy to install, works great
Casey –
Directions were not real clear as to WHERE the screws were located to open but generally was easy to set up and use.rnwas VERY sensitive during a recent rain and kept going off until I had to turn volume to almost nothing. Today seems to be ok. LIKE the counter on the receiver!! Great idea to keep track!!
Binro6628 –
I purchased the driveway monitor in 2011 after much research I found this product to meet my needs. I also purchased another driveway monitor in 2015. The only thing that I think needs to be addressed: Over time being outside the rain water leaked into the inside of the transmitter around the antenna. I chose a quick fix by applying some rubberized tape around the antenna. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is tired of throwing away money on all the other products that don’t last more than a few months at best. The company is very proactive in helping their customers with the products that they sale. Very pleased !!!!
KGB –
Easy install and worked great immediately. Alarm sensor is 400ft from the house, great reception.
roger –
excellent product – does everything it says it will do.
June –
Excellent driveway alarm ,with other units would get false alarms,0 with this one,I strongly recommend this alarm
Vic –
This has been nothing short of fantastic!! The distance I can hear the bell from still astounds me!
Libertywoods –
This is my second one and they work great My first one I had for about 6 years and was still working would recommend it highly
Nonna –
This is my second driveway alarm. The first one lasted at least 10 years. rnWhen it stopped working, I decide to replace it. I have been very pleasedrnall these years with your product. Thank you very much.
Cbrew –
I’ve had other motion sensor driveway alarm systems, but nothing works as good as this one. I have two transmitters. The front is over 1000 feet and it works every time. Ive had it installed now for three weeks, picks up every car and person entering my property. The receiver has a volume control which is nice. It also has 4 different sounds to choose from. Excelant device!
satisfied customer –
hugs and kisses. I bought and personally installed 2 outside sensors and 2 inside receivers and they work very well. My wife loves them and thinks I am a genius. Maybe I exaggerated a little but she definitely loves the alarms when someone enters our gate which is 1000 feet from the house.
Conneautville Soybean Crushing –
We could not be happier with this product. It works great for our business!
Renee –
Love it works great, so great when my husband mows close to sensor I hear every swipe. Have not had animal set off yet…had to move receiver closer to sensor when wouldn’t work one morning as husband leaving for work & raining it didn’t go off…moved the closest it can possible be so hope it does work better during rain. Although it’s on the loudest it can be can’t hear when I’m at far end of house. Anyone have any suggestions? Will update as time goes by.
Countrygirl –
I was looking for a driveway alarm that would not get set off by tree movement or shadows. So far it does a good job just picking up people, vehicles, and animals. A few times it picks up birds. The only thing I do not like is the tone. It is not a clear crisp sound, it almost sounds muffled. Then there are only 4 sound options and most of them are way too long. I only have it set to the one single tone. Would like something that does not sound like a muffled doorbell. The distance that the signal reaches from the sensor to the receiver seems to be very good. I have not tried it at our furthest point yet.
Dean –
Only up a couple weeks. Set up approx. 75 yards from house. Seems to work when it should. Would give 5 stars if had more experience with the unit.
Debra –
Love our driveway informer – great to know when someone pulls in!
Mike –
Very impressed haven’t had any false alarms. Also I have a lot of trees and bushes that the signal has to pass through or around and problem.
Retiree6 –
First driveway informer I purchased came from you. This is my 3rd. It has stood up well in normal weather. The only time I’ve had to purchase again is during an extreme weather situation. The quality is good and price is in range. Living in a country setting with burglaries & home invasions, It’s a safer feeling knowing I can see who is coming in so I can be prepared. Several friends have gotten information from me on these informers.
Marc S. Barthello –
Easy to install and remove for battery replacement
Daniel Kempa –
Without a doubt this is the best driveway alarm on the market. Wish I would have found this unit sooner before wasting my money on less expensive units. Just one problem, the transmitter bracket which is made out of a VERY thin aluminum will create problems when snow plowing. The bracket is too weak to keep the transmitter stationary when snow hits it.
Wendy Allen –
Great product. Have owned for 9 years and never had a problem. Original transmitter is mounted about 1100 feet away and goes off at least 95% of the time. Just ordered and installed second transmitter closer to the house just to pick up when the other one does miss.
Henry G –
I purchased and installed this driveway alarm a few days ago. The distance from alarm sensor to receiver in my house is about 160 feet. So far it has worked just as advertised. The only issue that should be considered is that this sensor is optical, so it alarms for vehicles and pedestrians. My old system (which died) was magnetically activated, so it detected only vehicles. So now when I open the gate, drive out, walk back to close the gate, and return to my car, the alarm goes off 3 times. That’s not a flaw, just the way it works. Now it also alarms when I walk up to pick up the mail. Nevertheless, I really like the alarm and it seems completely reliable.
Jason Warren –
Hi Henry. Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, your sensor is a Passive Infrared Sensor and it is going pick up any movement heat.
Lee Schoenthal –
The lady I talked to answered my questions well and it was easy to decide on a device that now is installed and working very well.
Adam Salser –
Shipping forgot to send inside unit with first delivery. Awaiting inside unit arrival
william lowrie –
we’ve had this system for over 10 years and enjoyed the confidence it provided. When it recently had problems, we decided to replace to ensure the same quality as before. We’re very pleased with the performance.
Wendy Allen –
Replaced an older one that finally quit working after 9 years. Works just as advertised and actually works up to at least 1100 feet away.
Andrew Fisher –
Do you sell to the UK? And if so, come fitted with a 3 pin plug.
1800Doorbell –
Hello,
Yes, we sell to the UK. We do not have a 3-pin plug, but I can get the correct specs you will need so you can order a compatible plug. Let me know if you would like me to provide the specs.
Helen DeFurio –
Can I mount this product in my garage and still have it workoutside.Garage construction is drywall, studs and vinyl siding?
1800Doorbell –
Yes, the outdoor sensor will be able to transmit to the receiver when mounted in your garage.
Mark Burns –
Very happy with the unit. Actually get better sleep now. Don’t go and buy cheap version. Go with the real thing.
Jim M. –
I have the 2000a driveway system and just purchased the accessory strobe light. There were no instructions with it and I noted the light only goes off for a couple seconds. I thought it was possible for the strobe to activate for longer periods. If so please advise how to adjust the settings.
Sarah Cotter –
so I have 2 spots I want to monitor. do I buy one receiver to put in my house and then 2 transmitters?
Debra Remy –
Di2000S-AG The Original Driveway Informer – Reliable, Long Range Driveway Alarm System
Mike Thompson –
Will it transmit 500-600′ through woods and around curves????
1800Doorbell –
Yes, the trees and curves should not detract from the wireless signal.
Customer –
I have a car lot..and want to put at entrance so when a car pulls in it will sound an alert in the office..The detection zone can it be just a straight beam from one pole to the other..Dont want it to be a cone shaped zone just a straight beam from pole to pole..and is there 2 detectors or one , and its only like 12 ft across can you set how far the beam goes. How does it work..
Gary Parker –
I have a driveway that’s 150’ from the street and visitors generally enter at the rear door. Our area has recently been inundated with porch pirates stealing packages. Even though we have a “Ring” doorbell, the 1800 Doorbell now gives us the early warning that allows us to earlier observation of our visitors before they reach the door. The added alert has greatly enhanced our sense of “readiness” for anyone that might have the wrong motives. Because the 1800 Doorbell will alert us to both vehicles and pedestrians, we are letting our neighbors know how well the system works and highly recommending it.
Lynn –
Really awesome reliable
Linda Britton –
Is there a video model available
Jim Smith –
The driveway doorbell is great.
Barbara Wood –
We have been very happy with several of these driveway alarms and have purchased another one for a friend. They actually work better (longer beam range) than advertised.
Sheri Mayo –
It works! Nice to actually have something that works. We have a long driveway and close to the range limit so this is awesome
Ed –
What is the range of the IR beam?
How long does the alarm stay on when a person walks in to the beam?
How long do the 12VDC auxiliary terminals provide the 12VDC output when someone walks into the beam?
I want to use these outputs to feed a micro computer that triggers an alarm in a remote location via Wifi with in turn activates an onsite Webcam.
Pamela Shorb –
Great product and company. Easy to deal with and very knowledgeable about products. Shipped real fast. Would recommend this company to anyone.
David Holdsworth –
Is the sensor truly water proof? I want to put it on the outside corner of my garage facing the top end of my driveway and am concerned about wind whipped rain, etc.
thanks.
1800Doorbell –
Yes, the sensor is completely water proof and would be covered under Rodann’s one year warranty.
Susan Kennedy –
Received product exactly when predicted. My biggest problem with it is trying to figure out where to put the transmitter. My situation is not one of large acreage with a long driveway but rather my wish to be notified when people who are not supposed to be here come onto the premises. I have the transmitter in a location that works, but if I can paint it to be less noticeable, I’ll probably do so. Also, I plugged in the receiver in my bedroom, which is next to the driveway and where I can best hear the bell. Alas, it has a bright blue light that is hard to sleep with. I’ve had to turn the receiver around to mask that light.
That said, it’s performing as well as can be expected for my circumstances. I plan to order at least 2 more transmitters. Now the question is, will I be able to fathom the instructions to adjust the dip switches so I get the different ring tones to tell me where the movement is coming from?
David Holdsworth –
Here in the North East, mounting the unit close to the ground with occasional deep snow-cover was not an option. The sensor is 9′ off the ground targeting the driveway 35′ away, (used a string line to pin point the beam). Only 4 stars since it has only been in operation for a few days, so far so good. Customer service very helpful from both the manufacturer and “Doorbell”
Charles Morris –
Excellent customer service. All questions answered with clarity and patience. The driveway protection devices were easily installed and they work well. The transmitters seem waterproof and I’m interested to see how they survive the winter however I believe they will do extremely well. I will be adding more for additional protection. I highly recommend 1800doorbell for their service and support.
Tennessee Purchaser –
We have purchased driveway alarms from here previously and they have always worked great. This new one works great as well. Only negative is the green color of the outside unit of our new driveway informer. Our old one was black and we liked that much better as it did not show up as much.
Doug –
shipped fast and very easy set up. It’s been raining and the unit has been working flawlessly. Very loud alarm also! I called a number of times and a very nice and informative person named Marlieen always answered my question quickly and she was knowledgeable of all the units
John Donovan –
The system has been installed about a month and has worked very well. It sounds off every time and has given no false alarms. The ding-dong can be heard throughout the house. Customer Service phone support has been friendly and very helpful.
Placed the transmitter on the side of a tree 42 inches from the ground so that small critters wouldn’t set it off, and it is about 150 feet from the receiver. Deer still trigger the alarm occasionally, but that was expected.
The transmitter could be offered in different color options in addition to green. Tan, brown, black, and even a camo pattern could improve the unit’s concealment in different environments.
The screws for the transmitter mounting bracket and housing were very difficult to turn initially. Once removed, a little silicone grease on the threads fixed that.
Only two screws hold the transmitter housing together, leaving a slight gap on the screw-less sides. Four screws could hold the assembly more tightly together all around.
The volume control’s location and small size underneath the receiver makes adjustments a little inconvenient. A top-mounted control would improve accessability.
The Driveway Informer is a very good system…USA made…and one that should last for many years. Very nearly a five-star rating.
Rachel Ingebretson –
Can the volume be turned completely off? We don’t need the system at all times, only when we are out of the office area and can’t see the driveway.
James Beck –
What frequency does the sensor transmit on? I have an existing home made Dakota alarm system that is failing and want to use these sensors in place. We monitor the Dakota in multiple locations on our hand held radios.
Marlene Hinman –
excellent product. Works as advertised no more surprises.
1800Doorbell –
The volume control knob may be turned all the way down, essentially muting the unit.
Customer –
Changed the batteries in my system and it keeps beeping different beeps…one is the normal sound if something coming up driveway..the other sound is new…ideas?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. Please try unplugging the receiver from the wall and then plugging it back in. If the issue persists, please call the manufacturer, Rodann, at 1-800-366-7010. Rodann’s hours of operation are 9 AM – 4 PM PST. Thank you.
Steven Sowell –
Awesome product
Louise Swartley –
My brother recommended this driveway doorbell and I am glad he did. First, ordering was easy, second, the service and product was here within 3 days of ordering, what great service!! Was my pleasure being a new customer. I highly recommend this company.

George Schambach –
GREAT product easy to hook up less than 5 minutes.. we ordered a 2nd one
Tamara Larsen –
Arrived quickly need small Phillips screwdriver to open for batteries screws were hard to loosen took a little time works great and very happy
David Fellabaum –
Great unit…especially since my alert perimeter is out over 900ft-thru dense woods to the house!
Mark Gustad –
What is the lowest operating temperature for this product?
Lynn Thompson –
What keeps the receiver from receiving my neighbors driveway alarm (hence giving me a false alarm) on my driveway?
I tried anther brand of select able 4 channel system and I got all his alarms and he got mine. We tried different channels but of course, the receiver monitors all 4 channel freq no matter what the individual sensor(s) are set.
We are in a rural area and have about 700-1000ft los between us. Our driveway are 350–650 feet, respectively, at 90 degree angles. Even though sensors on back side of posts systems reliably let us know each others’ activity. Problem is he leaves too early in morning 🙂
Dave –
We received our driveway alarm well packaged and it was shipped the day after ordering it. It arrived quickly and in very good shape.
We installed it the next day and it works perfectly. The instructions were easy to understand and the alarm was easy to install. The alarm can be heard even in the rooms farthest away from it.
We live in the country and our watch dog passed away 10 months ago. Since then we never knew when someone was coming up our long driveway until they appeared at our doorstep. Now that we have our driveway alarm no one gets by it without letting us know someone is coming! We absolutely LOVE it!
Customer –
2 issues
1. Works reliably for people, but often misses cars that go by it. It may miss the arrival, but detects the exit. Sometimes misses both. The car path is close to the transmitter. Tried different locations, but same problem.
2. It is set on ding dong tone which works when it does detect. But occasionally we get a different ring ton with no apparent stimulus?
Gregory Kilgore –
I need to discuss a specialize use of the driveway alarm…I would like to speak to someone. (916) 276-2722
JAMES PENNINGTON –
After 10 years it was time to replace the old unit. In my opinion this is a great product.
Michael T Goad –
I haven’t installed it yet.
Jerry Richardson –
Great shipping
cynthia correa –
I received the package much faster than expected, great surprise. Live in rural ranch and placed 1000 feet from our home. It is wonderful, i now have a heads up on anyone coming to the house. Feels secure.
mique malibashka –
Easy to install , perfect for a long driveway .
KAREN WILLIAMS –
This is our second unit. The original lasted at least 10 years. We live in a rural area and want the security of an alarm, especially when we have the gate open for package deliveries or repair workers. The doorbell chime is loud enough for my hard of hearing husband to hear throughout the house. The only complaint is that in our high wind and dusty environment of the high desert, it often sets off the alarm. We appreciated the quick shipping. Keep up the good work – great product.
Stephanie Simmons –
We love the door bell alarm, it is everything we were looking for in a driveway alarm.
Jonathon Wiery –
This is the best driveway alarm. Great range and reliable.
Rg –
I’ve been using these alarms for 6 years now with very little down time , and have gifted them to my family members as well, best one on the market. Rg
Me Ronald Dennis –
Quick shipping. Great product. Will definitely order from them again

DI2000S-AG The Driveway Informer Driveway Monitoring Kit
My receiver is not rigging, it made some weird sound when it senses activities. if i purchased a new receiver will it automatically work with the device that is already attached outside the building.
1800Doorbell –
Hello, yes, the should be compatible. All you would need to do is to ensure the pairing switches (on back of receiver) match with the settings on the outside transmitter. Give us a call when you receive it and we would be happy to walk you through this.
Kay Greene –
i live in rural and my drive bends and the house sits just to the right, will this alert still respond.
dan johnson –
I have these same drive way monitors but the old style, My original reciever quit on me ( 15 + years old ) so I had to order a new version one, they work great, I got a couple extra transmitters so I’m well covered , both driveways and the side of the shop.
Jon Spears –
works very well Thanks.
Jon
Michael Fant –
I like the construction of these items. They function as advertised and are extra long range. The different tones are great. I have 3 transmitters and am able to tell which one is activated by setting them to different tones. The receiver has a volume control and the normal volume is good but since I am nearly deaf I ordered the PA-Speaker and it is super loud. Most people wouldn’t need it but I do. I am very happy with the Rodann Driveway Monitor and recommend it.
Bill Blodgett –
Tried two other driveway monitor manufacturers to no avail. The DI2000 finally provides the consistent reliable alarms I need.
No issues. Would recommend to a friend.
ROB F –
Hi
Can the receiver be kept outside with minimal water exposure?
thanks
rob
1800Doorbell –
Rob,
Good afternoon. Unfortunately, the Driveway Informer receiver is not recommended for outdoor use. Any type of moisture could damage the receiver. Thank you,

I have a metal house and metal roof and Iâve discovered that it can interfere with wireless signals. I have a long curved driveway with trees between the house and the gate. Will your product work for me?
Jane Weimer –
Arrived in timely fashion easy to install and has been working greatly.
Gary April –
The entire process, from ordering to installation, was flawless. The unit was installed and operational in minutes. Liked the tracking notifications.
Donald & Tonda Craig –
how many decibels is the alarm
DANIEL KANE –
What frequency does the transmitter use?
Have bought others that have continuous false alarms.
Roger Gullet –
Will it send a signal 1100 feet. And what powers the sensor
Ray Odachowski –
Can you set it to detect a vehicle only?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. No, the Driveway Informer has a PIR transmitter and will alert any time the detection area is crossed by heat and motion. The only system that we have that would detect only vehicles would be the DCPA-4000 by Dakota Alert. Thank you,
Customer Support Team

Craig Stoviak –
I received this item and it appears used and is not working at all. Is there anyway I can speak with someone about what I can do to fix this situation?
Customer –
Do you need wi-if to use this or is it wireless?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. The DI2000S-A is a wireless system that operates off of it’s own frequency, you do not need to connect it to wi-fi. Thank you,

Dena Renee Price –
This is my 2nd purchase from this company. We have been very happy with both products as we have a long driveway and it works well for thst
Patrick –
How is the sensor powered?
1800Doorbell –
The transmitter, the Di2000T-A is powered by 2 x AA batteries (not included)
Michael Parillo –
Can i adjust the sensitivity of the outside unit. I only want it to beep from vehicles not animals like deer.
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. The DI2000S-A has a PIR sensor that will alert whenever it detects heat and motion so it will alert for cars, people and animals. The only systems that we have that would detect cars only would be the DCPA-4000 or the DCRH-4000. Thank you,

Works well. Good range.
Can’t figure out how to change the ring tone though. That’s ok it rings on the default tone.

David White –
As this unit is mounted on a post outside, how will I hear the alarm while inside the house?
1800Doorbell –
There are two products in this kit. The Di2000T-A is the sensor/transmitter that is located outside and will detect cars that pass through the monitored zone.
When motion is detected, the sensor/transmitter will send a wireless radio signal to the second product in this kit, the Di2000R-A, which will receive the signal from the sensor and play the chime sound. The receiver (Di2000R-A) is located inside your home.
1800Doorbell –
David,
Good afternoon. The DI2000S-A consists of two parts, an outdoor transmitter and an indoor chime receiver. The receiver can be placed up to 1000 feet away from the transmitter and the connection between the two are wireless. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you,

Can this be adapted to be used on bikes? My husband is mostly deaf and we are looking for a product that would warn him of cars coming from behine him? B
1800Doorbell –
Good morning,
Unfortunately, no. The receiver, were the alert sound would emanate, needs to be plugged into a standard wall outlet.
Bill R. Snyder –
Seems like an excellent product although I’ve only had it working for less thana week so far. But so far, and excellent product.
c n patel –
How long the batteries last
1800Doorbell –
The estimated time life of the batteries is about one year, depending on usage. Most of our customers go about one year prior to replacing the batteries.
Ted –
Can I adjust sensitivity?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. Yes, there are three different sensitivity settings inside of the sensor, low, medium and high. These are selected by the positioning of the jumpers on the AB and C pins. Thank you,
Customer Support Team

Truly a pleasure to work with. Excellent information on telephone with the first person I spoke to. Product was shipped out same day and is exactly as described. In today’s world an A+.
Lorrie Garrett –
Can you program the time you want this to opperate?
1800Doorbell –
Hello, no, this is not a feature of this product.
William Braislin –
Works great. Thank you!

I keep ordering driveway sensors. They are for a power company facility. We want to know ever time a person or vehicle enters the site. I have tried various sensors from $100-$25. It seems that ALL of them let cars slip through (sometimes) without going off. We try the things out by testing them, and their lights go off indicating they are picking something upe
Yet, the security guys keep telling us 3 vehicles will be on site with 2 different sensors on the gate (one inside and one outside on the gate and beams NOT interfering w/ each other) and they heard no ding or alert. Does your sensor have the ability to detect and significant object, at any speed (5-20mph that is) without fail? Darrin
James Mulder –
I need to know specifically before I order if this device pairs to 5ghz wifi, NOT 2.4ghz wifi. I use Starlink and if your device only pairs to 2.4ghz wifi I can’t use it.
Robin Meier –
Do you have a recommended range of operating temperatures for this driveway sensor? Need one suitable for cold winter temps in the -10 to -20 degree F range. Thank you!
1800Doorbell –
Good afternoon. All of our outdoor rated PIR driveway sensors have an operating temperature of -30 F to 120 F. The DI2000S-A has a range of up to 1000 feet and the ERA-DSDCR has a wireless range of up to 4000 feet. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you,

How many seconds/minutes betwee n the motion sensor detecting movement across it and it sending an alert/chime or alarm to the receiver.
Dave –
How long do the batteries last on the sensor?
Mike Driskill –
Can your sensors be programed to have different sounds from each other?
1800Doorbell –
Good morning. The Driveway Informer has four different chime sounds to choose from and each sensor can be set to alert a different chime so you would know which area was being activated. Thank you,

If sensor was put in vehicle in driveway and door was opened would it send a signal to receiver in my house (50-60 ft) away ?
Michael Conroy (verified owner) –
I had a different brand for past 12 years but after 3 units failed over this time, I decided to try a different brand, 1800 doorbell. Worked right out of the box. Picks up deer, coyotes, turkey flocks and autos and trucks. I’m very happy with this unit. I got a receiver for house and garage and one transmitter for drive.

What would we need to monitor 3 gates, within 200′ of house. We have 1 gravel drive way, but fenced in yard surrounding house
Douglas Lobsinger (verified owner) –
I appreciate the ease of getting it set and it’s reliability in working properly.
Roland –
I have two driveways. I use EBay, Does this unit have an alarm for two driveways that work on one receiver. Or do I have to buy two separate receivers? Please email me with questions. Thank you

Joseph Croft –
I want electric receiver inside. Solar outside
1800Doorbell –
This sensor/transmitter is not solar powered, and we do not have any that are. Sorry about that!
Martin (verified owner) –
Easy setup just mount the driveway sensor and plug in the receiver and you are set will buy again. Fast shipping also
Linda Thompson –
When the receiver is plugged into an outlet the blue light flashes and it emits an odd noise. I changed the batteries and the dip switches match. It still isnât working. Now what?
Customer –
How much does snowy weather affect the system?
We live in the Northeast and a cheaper system worked for a few days only before it didnât any more

I’ve been using these driveway alerts for probably 10 years now. The range is excellent and they never fail to pickup a vehicle or person coming up the driveway.
I bought a new receiver because I needed an additional one in a room we added to the house. I also went ahead and replaced the two I’d had for several years although they were still working fine. ( I’ll put them somewhere else other than the driveway). In fact I’ve never had one fail.
The range is excellent and the battery life is really good as well. I’d had 2-3 different brands before I found these but they weren’t even close in reliability and range.
I’ll never use anything else. I hope they never quit making them!!

Model DIR. 2000A receiver
When it is plugged into the wall it keeps ticking and a red light shows on the plug in. What could be the problem?
Dena Collins (verified owner) –
Our new driveway beeper works great! We are very happy with it.

Our DI2000S-AG driveway alert was affordable, came with an actual printed user manual and so, was easy to install! Your packaging was very good and we received our order within a week, which helped the rating! We will definitely consider your company in the future.

Doesn’t seem to have quite the same range as the older 9volt unit. All in all, still a great product though.

system works well, no “blind spots” observed so far.
I am not convinced system was made in USA as claimed, no labels found.
louder alarm with more tone options would be nice
Maclaren Hill –
Hi Robert, thank you for the feedback. We’re glad to hear the system is working well with no blind spots! To clarify, Rodann systems are fully manufactured in the USA, though individual internal components may be sourced globally. Essentially, while the individual microscopic “building blocks” of the circuitry may come from overseas, the actual creation, programming, and construction of the internal system happen locally. We appreciate your suggestions regarding a louder alarm and more tone options, and we will pass that along to Rodann. Thank you for your business!
